Although I started out as a musical theatre major in college, at one audition for “Guys and Dolls,” it became pretty clear to me that I was not tall (or talented) enough for the Broadway stage. So doing what any sensible theatre geek would do — I switched to a business major and became a management consultant and public speaker. I have to say, that’s worked out pretty well.

As the co-founder of Sterling Consulting Group, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of Fortune 500 companies around the world. My clients have included AT&T, Bank of America, IBM, Avis Rent A Car, Johnson & Johnson, Sprint, Oracle, Apple and Xerox among others.

As a principal of SCG’s subsidiary, Sterling Marketing Group, I’ve enjoyed working with hundreds of authors, entrepreneurs and small business owners helping them use the power of PR and marketing to get their messages across, build their businesses and sell books.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel around the world speaking at conferences, industry meetings and company events, including: The American Management Association, The American Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals, The Bakersfield Business Conference, The Direct Marketing Association and The Young Presidents Association, among others.

By the way, I still act in the occasional local show, and I’m ready at the drop of a hat to belt out show tunes to anyone who will listen.
